From The Chair...

Tim Durbin

Happy holidays everyone! As reported to you in the October newsletter, the Advisory Board had plenty on our plate to resolve by year-end. Here is a quick update:

First, our budget for fiscal 2001 has been approved by Liberty, with no increase in our annual dues! Our goal for next year was developing a budget that would allow a contribution to our Reserve Fund. I believe that with proper management, and our aggressive look at both the pool and grounds contracts, we will add to our Reserve Fund next year.

Speaking of the pool and grounds contracts, both are close to being finalized. I will report to you that the Advisory Board has elected not to go with Upstate Pool Management for next year. There were many factors that brought us to this conclusion (which will be reported at our annual meeting in February); however, we feel very good about our selection of Genco Pools. They handle a select number of communities, some of which are very prestigious, and I believe that Genco will be a great asset to our community.

On the grounds contract, we are currently looking at two contractors who are both very reputable and aggressively seeking our business. Again, we will have a report for you by our Annual Meeting at the latest. We will also update the website as we finalize these issues.

Having mentioned the Annual Meeting, I encourage everyone to attend this years' meeting. This is a very important year for our community, as this is the last year we will be under Liberty's control. We have many items to accomplish this next year with this transition, and need help and support from everyone. We also will have four open Advisory Board positions coming up for vote at our Annual Meeting. Please consider your role as a potential Advisory Board member or as a participant on one of the committees.

As this may potentially be my last newsletter, I hope the rest of the community will take a moment to look at what has been accomplished this past year, as I think the Advisory Board has been very productive and pro-active for our community. I want to thank all of the Advisory Board members and committee members who worked so hard this past year. I won't go into names, but I think you all know whom you are. Again, thank you. I sincerely have appreciated and enjoyed working with all of you.

I hope everyone has a safe and blessed holiday season.
